The fireproof performance of solid wood floor is obviously not good enough, because after all, they are made of real wood, and wood is inherently flammable. And SPC floor is one of the most popular environmental protection floor materials nowadays. We can often see this kind of floor in office buildings, hotels, shopping malls, hospitals and schools, and it is also very suitable for home decoration.
SPC floor, with its excellent stability and durability, not only solves the problem of damp deformation and mildew of solid wood floor, but also solves the formaldehyde problem of other decoration materials. At the same time, it has stronger fireproof and flame-retardant performance than solid wood floor, as well as the remarkable characteristics of super wear resistance, water and moisture resistance, mildew and insect resistance, strong stability, simple installation, etc. It is also a 100% formaldehyde-free green floor.
When purchasing SPC stone-plastic floor, manufacturers often mention the fireproof and flame-retardant characteristics of it, and its fireproof performance reaches B1 level.
China's national standard GB8624-97 divides the combustion performance of building materials into the following grades:
Non-combustible building materials(Degree A): The materials that hardly burn.
Inflammable building materials(Degree B1): Inflammable materials have good flame retardancy. It is difficult to catch fire in the air or under the action of high temperature, and it is not easy to spread quickly. When the fire source is removed, the combustion will stop immediately.
Combustible building materials(Degree B2): Combustible materials have certain flame retardant effect. In case of open fire in the air or under the action of high temperature, it will immediately catch fire, which will easily lead to the spread of fire.
Flammable building materials(Degree B3): without any flame retardant effect, the disaster risk is very high.
According to the above classification standards, the fire protection grade of wood floor is B2, while the fire protection performance of SPC floor is not as good as that of ceramic tile floor, but it is better than wood floor and carpet, and it belongs to B1. This means that SPC floor is difficult to catch fire in the case of open fire or high temperature, even if it is forced to burn by a fire source, it will not spread, and it will not produce toxic and harmful gases and cause spreading. After the fire source is removed, the burning of SPC floor will stop immediately.
According to the figures provided by the security department, 95% of the people injured in the fire are due to the poisonous smoke and gas produced during the burning. And the high-quality spc floor, when passively lit, will never cause harm to human body, and will not produce suffocating toxic and harmful gases. We specially took a sample and made a small experiment. The floor didn't change because of burning, nor did it release toxic and harmful substances such as smoke and odor. When the fire is extinguished, no black spots are produced on the floor surface.
In addition to fire retardant characteristics, SPC floor also has good thermal conductivity, so if the home is covered with floor heating, it is the best choice, no matter how hot it is, it will not release any harmful gas.
