How to take care of your PVC flooring
Here’s some tips how to care of your PVC flooring:
Always:
* Always wipe up spills ASAP.
* Always wash your floor with a floor cleaner sometimes.
Never:
* Never use a beater bar when vacuuming so it wouldn’t damage the floor surface.
* Never use paste wax or solvent-based polishes.
* Never use highly abrasive scrubbing tools.
* Never use detergents or “mop and shine” products – they may leave a scratch on your floor.
Proactive Protection:
* Lay an extra plywood panel on your floor and move the item across it when you moving a household appliance or a heavy furniture. This can protect your floor from scuffing and tears.
* The rolling casters can cause permanent damage to the floor. Therefore, we do not recommend them. If you have to use them, double wheel types are a better option.
* In order to reduce the indentation, please use Floor Protectors on furniture. As usual, the heavier the item, the wider the floor protector needed.
* Place a walk-off mat at outside entrances to reduce the amount of dirt brought into your home. We do not recommend the use of rubber or latex backed mats because the chemical (antioxidant) used to keep the backing from becoming brittle can permanently stain your floor. We suggest a nonstaining vinyl-backed mat or a woven rug that is colorfast.
* A welcome mat is needed to reduce the amount of dirt brought into your home. Do not use the rubber or latex backed mats, because the antioxidant used to keep the back from becoming breakable can permanently stain your floor.
